Memories Jibacoa is one of two international resorts on the north coast of Cuba about halfway between Varadero and Havana. The other international resort, Starfish Jibacoa, abuts Memories Jibacoa on the west side. Although there are only 2 international resorts in this area, there are several Cuban resorts on either side of Memories some of which you can see in the Google satellite viw at the top of this page.
Memories Jibacoa is an adults only paradise nestled along the sparkling shores of Jibacoa Beach among seven hectares of lush vegetation. Guests can spend their days relaxing by the sprawling pool area with a refreshing mojito from the pool bar or trying out a range of complimentary activities like dance lessons, yoga and catamaran rides. Snorkelling enthusiasts can explore one of Cuba’s most pristine coral reefs, located just minutes from the resort beach. Those seeking a more relaxing and pampering getaway can visit the on-site spa for a rejuvenating treatment like a couples’ massage. After a relaxing day in paradise, guests can choose from a range of dining options before retiring to comfortable accommodation options with garden, pool or ocean views.
We stayed at Memories Jibacoa from Dec 29, 2022 to Jan 12, 2023. Karen and David went with us for the first week. We had been to this area several times before - twice to Memories, although at that time it was part of the Breezes chain, and once to Starfish Jibacoa which was Villa Tropico when we were there. Although Karen had been to Cuba several times, she had never been to the Jibacoa area. David had never been to Cuba.

We often enjoyed a cappacino from the lobby bar.
The piano bar has windows on both sides. There are also doors to some outside seating.
The piano now is electric not the grand piano that they used to have.
The Gymn and Nautical Club contains a small selection of exercise machimes. Although its small it has the essentials (treadmill, elliptical, squat rack, free weights). There's a water station in the gym. It is also where you can book catamaran rides and other water sports equipment.
The area in the front left corner has mats for the yoga classes that are held every morning.
The two Hobie Cats can only be taken out by Memories staff. You book an appointment, show up at your appointed time, and a staff person will take you out for about a half hour ride.
The small sailboats, kayaks and paddle boats can be taken out if they are available.
Both Hobie Cats are at sea. In the closer one you can see 2 passengers and the captain.
The Selections Restaurant is Memories Jibacoa large buffet restaurant. The entrance to the restaurant is located on the west side of the lobby.
This photo taken from just inside the doors from the lobby shows two staff setting up. The bar that they are at had deli meats and a variety of very good cheeses. On the right side you can see windows. There is a door to the outside at the right end of the bar. There was a single row of seats outside which is where we often ate.
The hot food stations are to the left and behind the bar. The excellent buns and breads were in the back left corner. There were pastries in the back right.
Le Gourmet Restuarant is located behind the buffet restaurant. To get to it you take the walkway outside of the windows of the buffet restaurant
Memories Jibacoa has two tennis courts. The first time that we were there we met a Canadian who was hired to give tennis lessons. This year I did not see anyone playing tennis.
